Rev. Alan Ludwig’s Newsletter

Rev. Alan Ludwig served the Lord for twenty years through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod in Siberia, Russia, from 1998 to 2018. In that capacity he worked as a theological educator, teaching seminary courses and working with team members to develop theological education in Russia and other republics of the former Soviet Union. During this time he taught seminary courses at the Siberian Evangelical Lutheran Church’s Lutheran Theological Seminary in Novosibirsk, and, upon request, taught and preached at the local Lutheran congregation in the same city.

Although Rev. Ludwig’s service in Siberia has come to an end, these newsletters provide an excellent overview of the challenges faced by our brothers and sisters in Siberia.

Rev. Ludwig was also a guest on KFUO’s Faith’n’Family program on June 21, 2017. In this interview, he speaks of how ten weeks of teaching in Siberia in 1997 led to his twenty years of service there, what it is like to serve our Lord there, and the history of the Siberian Evangelical Lutheran Church.
